Job Title: Sales Assistant

Hours: Fridays 12.45 to 5.15pm (5.5hours)

Wage: £10.45 per hour + commission incentives

About you:

You’ll have a passion for handmade arts and crafts and be invested in the success of this small but thriving new addition to the high street of Glastonbury. 

You’ll enjoy learning about all the artists and their work and getting to know the tribe so you can talk about the products with confidence.

No two days are the same, so you’ll thrive in an evolving work environment where your ideas and input will be valued.

You’ll have good numeracy and literacy skills.

If you have experience in retail that would be a bonus, but there will be training and a natural willingness to learn is essential.

You’ll be comfortable working alone, opening and closing the shop and relish the customer interaction.

You’re diligent and responsible when it comes to taking payments, cash handling and looking after the keys.

Role and responsibilities:

Opening up the shop and ensuring it is presentable and inviting to shoppers.

Customer interaction is a priority - talking about the products, being a welcoming and friendly face.

Managing your time to ensure talks are completed - preparing packaging, bags, ribbons as well as general cleaning and other weekly tasks.

Keeping the stock and shelves clean and looking great.

Completing the sales records and cashing up at the end of the day.

Handing over any requests, issues or ideas.

Closing up the shop securely and leaving it ready for the next day.

There are some physical aspects to the job - lifting security grates, moving signs, bending to turn on fairy lights. Reasonable adjustments can be made but some level of physical ability is needed.
